Meet Your Therapist!
Hi, I’m Emma (she/her), and I’m so glad you’re here.
I didn’t always know I wanted to be a therapist—my journey actually started with a degree in anthropology. After college, I began working in a group home, where I discovered just how much I valued supporting others. That experience sparked something in me and led me to pursue a more meaningful path in therapy.
Over the years, I’ve been in therapy myself—at different times and for different reasons. Those experiences gave me the space to be fully myself, to feel seen and heard, and they deeply influenced my decision to become a therapist. I believe everyone deserves a space like that.
I began my career working with children and adolescents, but as I grew both personally and professionally, I found myself drawn toward new areas of specialization. My own experiences—like navigating low self-esteem, receiving an ADHD diagnosis in my late 20s, and processing various life challenges—led me to explore trauma therapy, ADHD-focused approaches, and self-acceptance work.
Today, I’m passionate about supporting women on their own paths of growth and self-discovery. I know how difficult it can be to feel comfortable in your own skin, and my goal is to help teen girls and women embrace who they are—fully, confidently, and authentically.
When I’m not in the therapy office, I’m often getting bossed around by my 2 cats (Bear and Rue) - somewhat joking.
I enjoy dancing, nature walks, creative projects (even though I’m not very good), and am always up for brunch.
I replenish myself by spending time with my friends and husband. I also love traveling locally or to destinations farther away.
My Approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in realness, compassion, and authenticity. I value collaboration and have a deep respect for your unique journey.
I’ve experienced both the power of feeling truly heard in therapy and the discouragement of feeling overlooked—those moments have shaped how I show up as a therapist. I approach our work together through a person-centered, trauma-informed, and feminist lens, where you are always an active partner in the process.
You can expect transparency, genuine connection, and support that’s tailored to your needs. I draw from modalities like ACT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Somatic Therapy to help you explore, heal, and grow in ways that feel realistic and meaningful for you.
Establishing a strong rapport with clients is at the core of successful therapy. I firmly believe that when there is a genuine connection between us, it creates a safe space for openness and honesty. This, in turn, paves the way for effective progress towards achieving your therapeutic goals.
If you’re feeling ready to begin your own therapy journey, I’d love to hear from you. Reach out to schedule a consultation—let’s see if we’re a good fit.
